I wanted Milan to be the first in receiving those images, but Greenwich isn’t always fair to us all at the same time :-)
Guys, against all rules that should not make me do this post, I anyway wanted to share one of my* achievement with you.

For the last 15 months I had only this project in mind. To make something unique, based an my last 12 years (out of 28 years in total) experience in wrist watches.
The alliance with experts in the field and my determination to make this piece completely artisanly, please allow me to introduce the first 2 final prototypes of the 'Decima Mas watches (tm)' Strumento XZ 221. Those watches are all made 'Per l'Onore' and endorsed by a person that was awarded the highest military decoration ‘Military Gold Medal’
Fabbricato In Italia, Swiss Movement Mechanical automatic-winding(Ø25,60 - Hours, minutes, central seconds - reserve de marche 40 hours - frequencies of 28800vph, 25 rubis) Titanium Grade 5, 18K Scudetto on the machanically rotating bezel at 12 o'clock, hand made and hand painted dial, 24mm hand made straps, 1000 meters water-resistant, 47mm (without the crown) this to list the main feature - Pictures often talk better than words, here they are below… each is a unique piece as they are hand made one by one.

Truly, I am all over my emotions!

Me* = I must say that I need to thank our Milan for pushing me in giving this project a start and an end. Another watch for eternal friendships!

Decima Mas XZ 221
Commercial news about this watch will be available Decima Mas™ Watches

too much red for my taste....i think...nevertheless they look kinda interesting...UTS-like with those big bezels...the hands are too thin for size of the watch...and errr...the combo of Arab and Roman numerals...not my cup of tea...i like the screws on the back a lot...and the crown...the skull at 4 is a nice touch...

nice effort...it must be a great feeling to be able to see the final prototypes of a not-so-easy project i'm sure...

are you gonna have them on some sort of rubber strap?

adrian

You will have to see the dials in person. There are not as too red as you seem to see them. Each dial has its own colour, although they all look similar they are different because they are hand painted. The general red is to accentuate and tied down all the little design details of the dial, in order to create something uniquely different.
They are many shades of red on the dial and they vary on light exposure.

The hands, they are not thin at all, they are balanced and proportioned. Also home, hand made and hand painted. Again I think you ought to see it in person.

The new version of the Californian dial, you like or you don’t. It was never done is this configuration before and it is combines with the symbols that I wanted to include in the dial.

One of the main focus during this project was to assure innovation and originality.

I am not telling all the above to convince you in anyways, just explaining some insight of the design.

Kind regards, Yves.
thanx for clarifying the details...

... let's say these watches won't be mistaken for something else anytime soon ;o)

sadly, they are not for me, with the bulky 47mm case and personally, i am also never really fond of that militaria stuff.
but i appreciate that you wnet through with this project, i am a big fan of such endeavours, plus the construction looks very solid and there are some cool quirky details like the 'tilted' california dial :o)

best of luck with this project, yves, it'll be exciting to see how they are accepted :o)

cheers, johannes

Finally after so many months it has arrived & I was sleeping - GO Figure why in the hell I am from Balkans! :-) ;-) ;-)

Man oh Man where do I start.

Firstly CONGRATS for not straying the course until the very end. Doing it your way, finishing the realization of a lost dream & creating that what heart said should be done no matter the obstacles presented.

Secondly - hey the finished product looks realized SO much better in reality then all the sum of it parts ;-) After much agonization & choices presented while creating & choosing the particular design choices I would say the completed 'Strumento looks ready for 24/7 daily wrist immersion. The case is a winner what a sensual beast; the dial & its numerous design possibilities finalized to single interpretation makes me grin from ear to ear; the little yet so important details that do make the watch special are all present (dedicated historically relevant engraving, scudetto on the bezel, dial XaMAS engravings, hand made quality, TI case plus the right size).

Thirdy- thanks for sharing your initial thoughts on all this with me & allowing some of my slight influence to be considered while doing this project. From the shared historical passion & achievements of another era, to love of instrument tools that make are soul tick away as you said another true eternal friendship watch.

OK now what I want to know do I have dibs on the prototype number or what? ;-)
So I heard of making your own....

Yes, the size is 47mm but it is wearable no doubts! and knowing you a little it is also made for you.
However Project 2 'Decimetta' will later come too, but I do not think it will be for you even if I like it a lot.

Only knowing that you will keep looking at them makes me happy, and that's is all that matters.

I like the red AR coating, adds new 'aura'
to the overall design of the watch.

1. I hope it has screws for the strap for easy changing :-)

2. I would suggest a chamfer around the edge of the bezel, maybe 1/4 of the width of the bezel.

3. The matte finish looks great, but for the owner to do their own touch ups for minor scratches, a brushed finish would be a bit more 'user friendly'.

4. Some type of engraving or etching on the end of the crown would be a nice touch.

Overall, a great looking sturdy piece. I'm glad you picked grade 5 titanium rather than the more common and softer grade 2.

Well done!
Thank you for your kind comments and thoughts >

Thank you for your thoughts >

1. Screws are not as easily damageable as others used versions. They are made to sustain many strap changes without showing any marks.

2. The design of the watch is to look modern and vintage at the same time, so additional designs would unbalance the aim.

3. This is the first version , other series will be made in various configurations.

4. Marking the crown was part of the initial plan. The crown and related parts is an original self development. I truly wanted it to be identified as such, only adding more markings anywhere else would have made this piece a little over the top.

But stay up to date for future releases, with other dial configurations which will include the marking of the winding crowns

5. Titanium Grade 5, not at all the easiest metal to work with, but the toughest and the hardest for watch-cases. And titanium because one of its propriety is Anti-Magnetic.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Not all can be done to remain acceptable to many.

Kind regards, Yves.
Congratulations to both of you

and appreciations.

Life Projects are tough.
To open and close a chapter always gives me a unique feeling, no kidding and without appearing anything else that I am not, those moments of pride are precious to me. What's to me even more special and highly rewarding, is when I share the results, and feel others appreciations... WoWah that's seconds in paradise.

Thank you to all.

After posting some images about this project, I left for 24 hours, I was really worried about my return here, instead... thanks to you all again!

Yves
Now look at this! Nice work Yves. Happy for you! (nt)
