there is not necessary relation between the 2. I love Ulysse NARDIN, for example, but not all their watches. I can also love some watches without loving the brand, as, for example, OMEGA: The chrono ratrappante .
Just my 2 naaard'in amouk Belgian Francs!
definately starts with a watch, but

cannot ignore the fact that one of the attributes is the brand.
Why do I like a certain watch? Design more than anything, craftsmanship, exclusivity, history & heritage and of course brand.

My .02 shekels that are worth less than Nico's.

Even though it appears I favor Panerai, what I really prefer is a watch model. I have several Panerai because I'm a huge fan of their crown protection device. I guess I'm constantly searching for something that no longer exists (in my mind at least). The perfect 24x7x365 watch. I thought it used to, A Rolex I had 10+ years ago, but once you buy an additional watch, you start down a slippery slope. A Glissade into peril if you will! :-)
Im attracted to the model, this model

Doesn't the BRAND make the watch?

When I look to buy somthing, it's because I like its particular look and style, first and foremost... but that's derived from its own branding, if you will.

Man, you're making me think TOO hard before my morning cup of coffee ;o)
