Two Come to mind..
The first one, I own, but you have to love Chronographs. It's a huge book, loaded with details and pictures. 80$ us is the going rate I believe.
The second, I did not buy, but I pretty much read it cover to cover in a rainy afternoon at borders..

This second book is both watches and clocks, and their impact on history, science and technology. Probably more for a clock guy, but it covers watches as well. 25 bucks US.
You can find either book typically online, or just pickup a copy of International Wristwatch, I think they have a tear out section where you can order both of them.
