1985...traveling through....
Europe for 1 year...( getting away from it all ) so to speak...
Was into diving big time back then, but never had a "real" dive watch...went into a watch shop in Zurich and saw a large rolex display...
was trying them on but was concerned about the price ( just out of my range ) and the size.. I awas afraid it looked way to big on my skinny litte wrist...
Sooooooooo..
They guy could tell I really wanted to buy the rolex but could not afford it so he directed me over to another display of a brand i had never heard of "Heuer" and low and behold the 2 tone chrono 2000 was perfect in price and I think it was a bit smaller as well. So I plunked down the 750.00 US and walked out with my first "real" watch....
I used the hell out of it until the mid 90's when I stopped wearing watches alltogether...
I still sitting in my watch case as a reminder to me of that trip, my love for diving and my first purchase of a real watch....
I love to take it out and put it on...man that strap is skinny but otherwise it has held up as far as design etc.....
I still laugh about the size/price thing on the rolex...
Cheers
