…the last moment for me to take in the beautiful sites we were surrounded with …
… and enjoy these last crazy moments with mon tres joli cheri :-)

Luck would have it (or better to say thanks to kind consideration of my friend Yves) we were invited to attend the preview opening of “Mondial de L’Automobile 2006”, specifically the private party organized by Jeager Le Coultre for their VIP customers. So off we went to meet Nicolas & Amarili our Parisian dates for the evening. From the shadows in the dark two dangerous characters appear in black ;-)

But first it was a crazy night riding on the wild streets of Paris…
…but we were cool as we had our good-looking ladies to boot…
…with the music that was way untactful loud. YUP our Nardiin party was ON! LOL
After a whole parking ordeal we finally made it - Mondial de l’Automobile!
As soon as we passed our credentials & made it to JLC soiree the champagne was flowing, the fine delicacies were abound & of course the fine watches were displayed. Yup I was already a bit light up feeling out of place ;-) ready to go & pounce …
…ladies were fitting in there just like the finely decorated JLC movements ;-) …
…unfortunately due to this being a no press VIP affair I was politely reminded not to use the camera as extensively as I am used to :-)
After a few hours spent talking & schmoozing in excellent companionship with JLC Boutique manager Mrs. Elisabeth V. & president of JLC Paris Mr. Yves M. we continued to Aston Martin party tent to continue with the festivities there…
…needless to say Nic & I were in GR8 SPIRITS! ;-)
Nic & Ama were enjoying the hospitality as well as each others company.
Whilst our ladies were enjoying the views & checking out the new Aston’s …

…we were busy in the background spending times with JLC crew talking what else but watches ;-)
Yup we were all into talking ‘bout the new Amvox2 seen here…
…sorry for the bad photos, but the champagne had its course by then…
… at least I remembered to take a pic of the back that Nico was pointing to ;-)
I have to commend the great horogical enthusiasm of Yves M. who despite being “on the clock” spent significant time talking to me about all sort of watches/brands including all the future/current JLC line up. I had more then a few funny anecdotes to share with you guys which really made me take a liking to his passionate down to earth personality. Well so much we had to take a dorky watch pics ;-)
As with everything that is so much lively fun, time flies fast so…
… I even tried to make Nico jealous to take him away from talking watches so we can check out the rest of the show halls.
So off we went to quickly have a chance & preview some new models coming to market. First off was this new little Volvo C30…
..to this magnificent Alfa 8C Competizione…
… 130K gets you this 450Hp exotic vintage inspired beast.
That was a bit out of my price range so I easily “settled” for Nico’s Alfa GT.
Ah soon we were to our first Italian love – Ferrari. Yup I agree Nic we got to get this one ;-)
Engine straight out of Enzo with sexy looks, daily drivability & a boot. 599 GTB Fiorano - truly the shinning star of Ferrari models.
Quick break to look at the Maserati Quatroporte the sporty alternative to a luxury sedan…
… but I have to say I was really dreaming of this pimp ride.
Then my first viewing of the new two tone color scheme on the RR coupe concept 101EX …
…need I say this was hugely impressive…
…as they say this baby got back! ;-)
Next up we ended up looking at my favorite & IMO the best all around sport car the Porsche 911. This was no ordinary 911 we ended up viewing the reveal of the most extreme, road legal, track production model that ever came from Stuttgart - 911 GT3 RS.
Need I say my dream track car…
… from my shitfaced grin you can guess I was on cloud 9 ;-)
Now trying to fit into it …
… that was a whole other & much harder ordeal…
…finally inside after I suck up & wipe off my drool…
…you are presented with this no nonsense, all about driving, business view :-)
After I was helped out of it & got composed from the exhilaration we went to view a more sensible choice the 911 Turbo …
… yup all the power you may wish, with added safety of 4wd, all dressed in supple leather. Yup my lawyer & I were in business …
... the luxury interior of this civilized monster was given a sign of approval of a big smile by this beauty…
… just my luck the one car I like now she loves & wants for herself ;-)
On insistence of Nico we couldn’t leave before looking at some French offerings…
…I was WTF you got to be kidding me…
…but alias ALLEZ, ALLEZ he insisted! ;-)
Luckily Sandy saved me when she found this cute Peugeot 207CC concept…
… but as usual I preferred this 207 Rally version better ;-)
Soon I found what I was looking for at BMW stand. The stunning Z4 Coupe …
…a really fun, proper sports ride both inside…
…and out.
I even had a chance to glance at the sleek new 3 series coupe…
& at that a diesel 4wd version which you won’t see stateside anytime soon.
Next up was Mercedes and only the big boys came to play. First up S class with new 6.3l engine
…followed by all new CL 600 coupe. A real beauty especially from the front…
…with inside to match your living room comfort.
Of course there was also the insane CL 63 AMG version that I though nothing can match…
…that is until I saw this. :-)
Yup a Mclaren SLR (accompanied by the sound of my jaw dropping) ;-)
… carbon fiber & HP galore …
It wasn’t just a “regular” one but the 772 Limited Edition (as if the others aren’t limited) ;-)
Attention to improving every detail for faster motoring was the imperative design directive..
The chance to check it out first hand left me grinning like a child at Christmas day.
It was closing time already so not that much time to look around. Some more concepts…

…a cool & affordable French update on classic lines of Porsche legendary 356..

…all that was left was to cherish the memories smiling…
… before saying goodbye to our hotel & bid adieu to our wonderful Paris experience.

I sincerely thank to all of you who took the time to view this (perhaps sometimes tiresome & obnoxious) report & share in our good times. Until next time … ;-)
