First we had to stop by Paris and finally meet another blacklisted crazy Frenchman the solicitor to the crooks - the one & only Nicolas Foundanche.
We were fortunate to also find our hotel for our return to Paris right next door to Nico which housed yet another famous guest.
But first we had to admire the beautiful surroundings of Jardin the Luxembourg on one side …
…and the Pantheon on the other …
…all while sitting in a Belgium Brasserie enjoying a quick beer & some fine wine ….
…during our 2-3 hour lassie affair (double entrée) delicious lunch ending with yummy profiteroles ...
…and more of the refreshing beer….
… to go along with some fine Habanos ;-)
But sweet and short as it was we had to catch a TGV bullet train to Nantes. Speed up 2 hours and voila we were enjoying the hospitality of the Odier’s.
After a brief tour of Nantes and Yves’s favorite restaurant ;-) LOL
Most of that day we spent relaxing enjoying the afternoon cocktail backyard sun drenched happy hour ….
…of course examining what else but watches …. & A LOT OF THEM!!! LMAO
Did I say we had some good wine – Sorry but it was more like Magnificent even better that it was in magnum bottles ;-)
I was in a Rolex kind of mood so spent my time between 5510, 16660 and 5513 during the first days making up my mind which will be my next keeper.
Did I mention that happy hour in Nantes last till late in the evening? Yup it was Rolex & Château Margaux time ;-) ;-)
Next day the ladies of the house suggested going out – Great we thought shopping & we thought they were talking watches!
We were all ready for whatever that meant!
Yves manned the Jeep …
…while Sandy was the official photographer…
Ahh lunch time with a friend Gael to feed the always hungry guests ….
…finally they’re full he must be thinking ;-)
Nothing like a good cigar to end a good appetizer ahem I mean meal! LOL
After a few stores including some watch store we were ready for a little afternoon siesta. Not before Yves arranged for special transportation in Sandy’s favorite little French car! ;-)
Soon we were back what we do best – talking watches! I’m not going to go into details, all in due time, but I had to share the one that surprised me the most as I truly did not expect to fall in love in this stunning manual white dial white gold Vacheron Constantine chrono.
Perhaps it was appropriate that Yves them followed up with a presentation of his security system…
…I would rate it low tech yet very effective ;-)
Like you need to aim with that thing LOL!!!
I was happy to find also a vintage Winchester …
… and even some live rounds ;-) …
…. Looky, looky now ..
…you know what I’m thinking now, right?

“Gimme those watches, beyootch!” LMAO ;-)
Yup there is a new Sheriff in town!
Or so I thought until the real Sheriff rode in …
…and laid down the LAW!!! ;-)
C’mon with a face like that how could I not oblige! It was play time so we had to go do the kiddy thing again.
Soon again it was déjeuner time … lets not forget the Trés Joli vino ;-) …
…but the day was so gorgeous that the ocean was calling …
… not that great of day for sailing though
…but Dede had other plans instead of sailing ….
… which soon enough made us both smile …

…yup it was Jet Ski time!!!
Unfortunately no action pics but it was some of the best ocean jet skiing I ever experienced. With 2-3 waves and jumps as high (if not more) we had an absolute BLAST!!! It was difficult to wipe that grin of our faces ;-)

After that I went for some local basketball & when I came back I was left with nothing but to enjoy another very nice bottle of wine.
The next day back in the “campagne” that’s “countryside” for all of you Anglo speaking folks …
… I tried to help fulfill Sandy’s missed childhood dream of, believe it or not, riding a bike ….
…at first it was hard but soon enough …
…she was getting the hang of it! ;-)
While I was getting some SLR photo tips ….
…unfortunately not learning much in the process! ;-)
At the end we said F#Ck It and let Sandy take the photos! LOL
Afterwards it was time for me to have another bottle & take in some more sun while being passed out.

While inside Yves was enjoying the epicurean delights of that French chain that we all know & love so much! LMAO
But soon we stopped horsing around & actually met some real ones!
…and some “LNIB”, real small …
& real cute ones as well…
…I tried to round them up & play “Horse whisperer” but they would have none of that ..
…although this young buck was ready to play.
Then it was off for some real riding! Safety first ..
…Sandy got a nice one she was really matching her name Countess
… while mine was much bigger although female as well she could have fooled me with a name as Anjou = OffSide!
Off we went for some country cross riding – what a FuN!!!
What a great ending to a week it was so much that we were finally beat!!!
Last night we went to a Nantes restaurant institution “La Cigalle”.
We were more then pleased – hmmm Food!!!!
Although I didn’t think Yves was that pleased but hey it’s a French thing! LOL
While our buddy Gael was still puzzled that we were brought together by these oversized watches ;-)
At the end all I could barely manage is to grab some ’97 Chateau Labegorce Margaux to finish of the night!
As all good things come to end soon so was with our stay in Nantes. All that was left was to say a big “THANKS!” to our gracious hosts Florence and Yves for putting up with our demands (& my liquor consumption ;-) )
Our last goodbyes with the big guy …
… that was squinting from “shedding” a tear ;-)
& off to Paris we went!
…but that’s a whole other story so stay tuned for Part 3
