just beacuse it is nice to know how long you have until you have to wind the watch again especially in the case of manuals (As for auto's I never really understood it as much why having a PR is so imperative especially if you wear it often or it's on a winder). Example my PAM 190 8 giorni or the IWC Porto which i don't have :-) Hosting provided by FotoTime 2nd is Chrono - just because measuring little fragments of time is the most basically function of a watches & perhpas what they are all about. Having dedicated subdials (although it could get way too busy on the dial design) for instant time measurement monitoring is also a form follows function appeal of what I like about the watch mechanics. Example my favorite PAM Chrono the classic 162 dial. Hosting provided by FotoTime Others IMO are interesting but all for the show & glory as I would have never really use them in daily if any practical application.
