Here is a big question.

My most important criteria are history, functionality, technicity, esthetic,...

I'm also thinking of the JLC AMVOX II, since DEC 2005.  Hope they will lauch it soon,now....For the same reasons than you.

A PP Nautilus chrono or 5712 wil be a nice choice,and was a great surprise.

A JLC Polaris is one of the watches I hunt for a long time, because of its history and its beauty.

A IWC PC Potruguese in platinum (year 2003).  I love its silver dial, and its exclusivity.

And so on...Too many watches!

As for the answer, I will ask to my banker, it will be easier to choose...NOTHING!LOLOL
