Panerai evidently brought a new horizon to the watch industry. Simple and readability with a history equal to none in the business. We were the lucky one, enjoying all of its environment, and passion drove some us in doing or reacting without balance. Yes they are beauties, only I think that today too many of the many without a real evolution in the design will bring a saturation somewhere, what once worked ‘exclusivity & rareness' is today in my opinion over available, and the price of those many pieces are reaching do make many ask ‘is it worth it?'. The vintage and the Pre-Vendome are safe as well as the earlier Post-Vendome series, but to now acquire something somewhat a bit above the average within the brand, I think that prices are set too high.
I am confident that Officine Panerai will find all of the answers for a bright a successful future, only I hope that what was once a ‘Military Secret' will not end up too widely available and in spirit of Panerai's history.
The California Watch, as a piece I like it, as an alleged repeat of the past, I do have a problem with it, why?... it feels like something that belongs to some one else, otherwise it a nice looking piece only it could be identified to other brands. But a nice piece!
Let's see how the new movements will help the strength of Panerai. Panerai & Tourbillon... mum I wonder!
