I remember all of the Vintage, all Pre-Vendome and Vendome to PAM 00208 (even if at times I forget about some). On the current line, I know only about some icon models. Why? Till PAM 00208 I would have want to own all of the special models. I would hunt for any information available and making or following discussions to establish what was a keeper. Financially it was easier in the beginning than now, The PAM 00036 was retailing for approx. 3500 USD and this was for a very special watch. To have the same exclusivity today; one needs to spend an easy triple that amount, being that it is not about owning one watch; it is in my case out of reach. Exclusivity, we all saw models after models, SE, Historical, Contemporary, Manifattura, OOR ending up to be too many and often looking and being housed not too differently from one another, and the production is too large. History, the enthusiasts devoured all of the headlines, and there is no much secrets left. Tough, it is still not a open topic with the brand! The Laboratory, (imo), apart for P2002 (PAM 00200 / PAM 00201 / PAM 00233), we are 9 years ahead and what has been working is solely the production of re-replication of the past, sure interesting but 9 years of the same old. Brand Image, what was made out of it comes from the brand enthusiasts. Today it is much more about Yachting and Sport cars, this might not be everyone's interest. Brand Communication, I will not say much! But imo 'bad'! It was about someone by the name of Guido Panerai, it is now about a luxurious group over producing what was once secretly and discretely produced in approx. 400 pieces for the Vintage and replicated (Pre-Vendome) later in just over 2200 pieces. As of late, even if I still have an interest for the brand history, the product… in my experience of ‘the bad brand communication’ and the over production of too many of the same, has led me to detach myself from those PAMS, thus explaining why I do not follow closely post PAM 00208 Oh, and one more thing, I do not like it that some PAM References aren’t made public! As well as ‘OORding’ Limited Edition! I have had a tremendous time around this brand and I have made a few valuable friends, this I will not forget. Probably it is why I can still look and know about a PAM 249 or PAM 00232 Yves.
