Military pieces are designed to serve specific tasks >
Johannes,
I think when it comes to practical Military pieces it is best to leave it to the experts.
At times (often) we cannot understand what is or was the goal to be achieved, this is because requests are made to serve a specific purpose.
Regarding the strap/band, this piece is only supplied on a Nato Velcro band, the titanium bracelet is not supplied with this model. The Nato band has been one of the solution for divers, simply because it is waterproof as well as being easy and fast to fit on wrist and over a wetsuit.
Usually dials are designed to be quickly read, so the less info the better. The bezel on this watch is very secure, you have to press down to rotate.
For the first time the thickness of this watch allows as you call ‘brutal moves’, it is rather thin, perfectly fitting a wrist.
I see your points, even if today in the army the need of wrist instruments is challenged, there are still many requests, and studies, this because electronic devices do not convince all situations.
Military units worldwide learn from one another, and we saw many variations, I think that this piece in my opinion is one of the top I know of, and it houses a specific movement that allows a specific task.
But hey if you plan, let’s do it… :-)
Yves.
