JLC Squadra World Chronograph – A little intro to something out soon.
In June 2006, I was invited to the Reverso 75th birthday in Paris, needless to say that the event was out of this world, a great party for all attendees, organized and tune to the dot. Frankly speaking, the best party I ever got in. Thanks again to JLC France.
I have always admired the Reverso, but it has never been a watch style I would consider, even if, mechanically speaking, Jaeger LeCoultre is one of my favourite brand. Its origin, its discretion and understated approach have always appealed to me, and their pieces are simply astonishing. Only Reverso is not for me.
But, me wearing a Reverso never again never...
The 75th Birthday of the Reverso was to be about something quiet expected to happen, but Jaeger LeCoultre being so conservative and close to traditions, it was also nevertheless an immense surprise to us when finally the Squadra was unveiled. Simply astonishing.
What is it, what does it look like:
The version of the Squadra I immediately fallen in love with is, the Reverso Squadra World Chronograph. That piece is a beast :-)
A Reverso for the first time housed in a huge square case, which in fact was one of the 2 patents deposited by JLC 75 years ago.
The movement made of 366 parts...
Automatic winding mechanical movement, Calibre JLC 753, 28.800 vibrations per hours, power reserve of 65 hours. Recto: hour, minute, small second, large date (linked with the first time zone), day/night indication, chronograph. Verso: world time. Reversible case, large Reverso Squadra size. 5à meters water-resistant. Available in titanium. Alligator leather strap on folding clasp in stainless steel. Also available with a rubber articulated strap. Limited Edition of 1500 pieces.
What happened to me later will probably happen to you after you tried this magnificent piece on your wrist, I cracked up, and for the first time ever, I signed up for a Reverso (Squadra) which I will get before year end. And this is not the only one Jaeger LeCoultre piece that I cracked up for. I will tell you more later about the other one, yet again another beast!

I think that Jaeger LeCoultre has more surprises to unveil to us, and from what I saw, I can say that JLC will keep on standing high.
Those watches are driving me crazy, when I think I am done with them, something comes out and sucks me right back in. But you know what, I love it.
