Guess what as you know your buddy the best I think you also made
the best suggestion for his PAM choices. Without knowing much more I would say the combo of 2 manuals & classic styles as 190 & 112/0 would be the best choice IMO. As well with current used price market probably the wisest choice as well if he decides to mix it up later as we all did. Another option is to add a contemporary auto model, but that depends on his personal taste. Then again for the money there are some other more tempting choice besides these ;-)
