early this week i received a new dark blue croc strap for my AP from Simona...well, i tried to put it on the watch and it didn't work...i figured it out that the local watch store will be able to help me out...left work early yesterday and got to the store around 2;00 PM...they tris for an hour and it didn't work just because the strap was made in such a way that forces the pin to go at an angle and it doesn't catch the opposite lug hole....anyway, that is not the point...the AD dealer had 16 Panerai in stock and in display and 2 of the Ferrari models....they're kind enough and let me play with all of them while i was waiting for my AP to be strapped....
they had the following models: 000, 005, 111, 112, 24, 104, 90, 213, 214, 176, 190, 183, 114, 196, 231and 251...and the 2 Ferrari were some black face pieces...
i wanted to like any of these, but none of them tickled me....what is wrong?...i looked at those pieces and except for the 190 and the 251 the other ones were just too plain looking....i don't mean to offend anyone, but Panerai doesn't do it for me....why?...very interesting feeling to be in a store, to be able to afford most of those pieces, and not to be tickled...the 190 is interesting becasue of the movement and of the gold hands, the Daylight is neat because of its off-white dial...but still, not enough to make me buy it...
and the Ferrari's...ouch....ugly....the date window is really small with no magnifying glass over it...the seconds subdial is 'eating" away from the 10 and the 8...
funny thing is that none of the current pieces of most of the brands out there do anything for me....am i done with watches?...one reason can be the trip to Geneva and me entering in all those stores...watchsighting overload?....now, don't get me wrong...i wish i had the money to buy a nice Lange Dato, or the VC chrono that Milan showed us, or one of the J*D pieces...but i'm talking about the below, let's say $10k, i have a hard time finding a watch that i'd like to wear....why?...what happened to me?...
sorry for the rambling....i'm heading to the dentist for a clean up and is kinda slow this morning...
