A minty 16550 cream dial Rolex Explorer from 1985.
Bought many years ago, before I had a thorough knowledge of Rolex. I remember unwrapping the watch and refusing to believe it was kosher. I was used to modern Rolex and had never seen anything like it.
I bought it off Watchnet in 1994, well before digital cameras and even scanners were used and once in a while you just had to trust the seller or get a dark fax of the critter in question.
A little research and contact to james Dowling did however convince me of my lucky find and James actually ended up buying the watch two years later. And...yes...I kinna regret that.
But that is actually the only watch I regret not being part of my current collection.
