It will always be about tool/sport watches for me Mark..
Tonight, I'm wearing the SINN U1, clean, simple, not over stated. Ruged, wear anywhere, beat the heck out of it watch. Yes, it's not as outspoken as a Panerai, but it's tough, and it has one quality I really enjoy....
Nobody knows it's a decent watch, people comment on it, and ask what it is. When I say it's a SINN, ther are no eye brow lifts, or comments about the price like you would get with a Rolex etc.
So, sadly, I still am not over the Sports/Tool watch hump, even as I climb into my 40's, I don't find myself wanting something with more class and elegance.. But I do love reading aobut them, the tourbys, etc.. Maybe when I grow up, I'll drop the money on that stunning IWC 5001... Or a nice JLC..
